SmartBimPeï collects only the strictly necessary technical data required for license authentication, 15-day trial management, and transaction delivery:
- Machine & Licensing Information: Machine hostname, operating system version, anonymous hardware identifier, IP address (for license verification and trial anti-abuse), product version, license key, and activation timestamp. This data is collected automatically when activating a license or running a trial via the Cryptlex licensing service.
- Purchaser Information: When you purchase a license via our official merchant (Lemon Squeezy), your name, email address, company name (if provided), and transaction reference are collected to generate and deliver your license key. Payment card data is processed directly by PCI-DSS Level 1 certified processors; SmartBimPeï never has access to or stores credit card numbers.
- Contact & Support Data: Information you voluntarily provide when emailing our support team (e.g., email address, bug reports, communication history).
2. Third-Party Service Providers and Data Protection
We work exclusively with industry-standard third-party providers that adhere to rigorous privacy standards, including GDPR and CCPA compliance:
- Cryptlex, Inc. (LexActivator SDK): Used solely for software license validation, trial entitlement, and activation tracking. Cryptlex is SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant.
- Lemon Squeezy, LLC (Merchant of Record): Used for secure order processing, invoicing, and tax compliance. Fully compliant with PCI-DSS Level 1 and global data security regulations.
We confirm that all third parties with whom licensing or order data is shared provide the same high level of protection and privacy safeguards as stated in this policy.
3. Data Retention and Storage Policies
- License & Activation Records: Retained for the duration of your active subscription or lifetime license to ensure software functionality and allow license transfers between workstations.
- Trial Records: Retained for up to 90 days following expiration to prevent trial resets and fraud.
- Financial & Invoice Data: Retained in accordance with applicable commercial and tax accounting laws (typically 5 to 10 years).
4. Consent Revocation and Data Deletion Rights
Under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and applicable international laws, you have the right to access, rectify, or request the complete deletion of your personal data.
How to revoke consent or request deletion:
- You may deactivate your license directly on your computer within the Revit plugin.

- All deletion requests are verified and permanently processed within 30 days of receipt without charge.
